Once there was a pig... and it was huge! And it was best friends with a kangaroo next door. True story! Last week we went to a super fun Pumpkin patch here in Utah. My friends told me that I was about to see the biggest pig ever, I didn't believe them until I saw it. That pig was crazy huge!!! Emma got such a kick out seeing the big Bertha of a pig. Paisley (The little girl I nanny for now) just kept laughing and pointing at it.
Although the pig was cool, my favorite by far was the Kangaroo! I am now trying to convince Jake that we need one when we finally have his hobby farm that he desires. I think it is a great compromise. He gets cows and chickens and I get a kangaroo and goats haha.
But seriously, have you ever petted a kangaroo? They are so soft and cuddly. I love it. This guy in particular LOVED to be petted. That little animal made my day!
Emma, I think, could have stayed at the pumpkin patch all day long! Between the huge slide they had and the corn pit, this girl was in heaven. Sadly though, Lizzy loved it until she got too cold (we happened to have picked the coldest day to go) So when the 11 month old
screams says it is time to go, its time to go haha. Here are a few pictures of our adventures.
P.S The corn pit was So. Much. Fun!!!
Big changes are happening around here. Life is certainly about to get more interesting! After 3 and a half years we are officially saying goodbye to California and moving to.... Thats right! We are going back to school. And by we, I mean Jake. We are so excited to take this next step and have Jake get his MBA. This is going to be our first time living in Provo and we are so excited! With family and old friends living close by it is guaranteed to be a good time! So if you see a place to rent think of us ;) While we looking forward to the big changes, it is definitely bittersweet. We have had so much fun in California. We have loved being close to Jake's family and a couple of my family members. We have met so many amazing people out here that it will be sad to say goodbye. But I know that there are adventures waiting for us in this next chapter of our life. Now I have to take a minute and just brag about my husband. He is just simply amazing. He has worked so hard to get here and pulled many long hours. But throughout it all, he has made sure to keep our family his number one priority. I am just so proud of him and so grateful to have him as my husband. So here to two years of craziness ahead of us. There is no place else I would rather be.
Saying Goodbye has never been easy, especially if it is someone you love dearly. A week ago yesterday I said the toughest goodbye yet. I said goodbye to my Grampa for the last time. We had gotten the news earlier that week that my Grampa was not doing very good. He was in the hospital and it looked like he would not be coming home. What went from having a few months left, quickly turned into any day would be his last. Jake and I decided to make a last minute trip to see my Grampa and to have him meet Lizzy. I will forever cherish the last moments I was able to spend with him. It was such a blessing to see him one last time. My Grampa died a few hours after I left him. I will miss him, but I know that I will see him again. Until that day comes, I will think of him whenever I eat ice cream, play checkers, sing, or play a instrument (Grampa loved music) and eat sugary cereal :) I am so glad that he wrote down the stories that he use to tell us because now, whenever I miss him, I can go back and read what he wrote. I love you Grampa! "may God be with you till we meet again"
Life for us is finally starting to get back to normal since the holidays. We are slowly on the mend after being sick for the past couple of weeks. At least we all got our sickness over at the same time. Haha it made for some interesting days. With Emma having a double ear infection, all of us having a nasty head cold, and I having pink eye on top of that, it makes me even more thankful for my health... and for my hearing. Have plugged ears for a couple of weeks is no fun, let me tell you. But amongst the sickness I have loved cuddling with my girls. They just make me so happy! So here is to a healthy rest of the year. I am so ready to play again! (Pictures were from our holiday vacation when we were all healthy ; )
