Two Weeks! Well technically one week and five days until my due date, but who is counting. I can't believe that we will soon have a baby girl in our arms. Time has gone by so fast! I simply can't wait to meet this little munchkin. I am not sure who is more excited, me, Emma, or Jake. Any time Emma sees something for the baby, she get super excited and exclaims "for baby sister! I have to admit that I have been nesting like crazy. But everything is just about ready. Now it is just the waiting game. Oh, if only I can learn patience hahaha! To celebrate the baby coming, we decided to have a mini photo shoot. I love that my husband is so talented and was able to take the pictures for us. Can I just say that i love my little family! They just make me so happy. Baby girl, please come soon! Your little family is so excited for you!
And the baby is a GIRL! Last week I went to the doctors for my ultrasound appointment. This has to be be my absolute favorite doctor appointments that I have to go to. I have been counting down for this day for weeks! It was so fun seeing our little munchkin moving around, kicking, and wiggling her fingers. Jake wasn't able to be there which was a bummer (hopefully we will have more exciting news soon!). So I had the technician write if it was a boy or a girl on one of the pictures so that we could find out together. I must admit this whole time we had been thinking that we were going to have a little boy. This pregnancy has been different then with Emma's, so when we opened up the envelope we were shocked and excited to find out it was a girl. I can hardly wait! I get to have another amazing little girl to play with all the time. Emma is going to think we gave her a life size doll to dress up lol! This little munchkin of ours doesn't know it yet, but she is going to have the best big sister ever! Emma is slowly, I think, starting to realize that she is going to be a big sister. At least she loves to poke my belly and laughs when I say there is a baby in there. Of course she could just think that her Mom is one silly goose for saying there is something growing in her tummy hahahah. We can hardly wait to meet this little girl of ours. Now the fun begins as we try to think of what to name her. Luckily we can agree on girl names a lot easier then boy. So far we love the names Elizabeth, Bailee, and Abigail just to name a few. We actually have a list of like ten names that we really like but nothing for sure. It will be fun to see what name wins out. So if you have any other amazing girl names feel free to throw them out there. Emma had so much fun taking these gender reveal photos. She kept asking "again please" What little girl wouldn't love to dance around in falling balloons and petals. Luckily for us we had an amazing friend come and take some photos for us so that Emma could play in the balloons a couple of times. Meredith you are the best!
For the past year and a half I have been a nanny for three cute little kids. A little girl who is now turning three and two little boys who are a year and a half. Emma has become best friends with these three munchkins. She starts giggling as soon as she sees their house and always runs and gives hugs to the little girl. And the two boys love my Emma so much that they are always trying to give her kisses on the cheeks. It is super cute! I have had a lot of fun with them and seeing all of them grow and learn. But now times are changing and it is time that I am just called Mom. Wednesday was my last day with this little family. It was bitter sweet. We will miss them, but I am so excited to be a stay-at-home Mom with Emma. I have so many ideas and schemes that I am thinking up, that I am so exited to have extra time with Emma. To start off this new adventure we went to the Library... twice! Emma absolutely loves it there. And I love the programs that they have for children. She loves wandering around the aisles and aisles of book, picking just the right one, and bringing it to me to read. While we are there, we have been able to go to our library's story time that is just for Emma's age. Emma loves it! She gets to sing, dance, and read. All of her favorite things in one place. Now I am on the hunt to find all the other cool things that we can do here in Davis. So many adventures are waiting to happen! Becoming a official sty-at-home mom is not the only exciting thing that has been going on around here. There have been so many exciting changes! It is amazing what a difference a month can make. Here are just a few awesome things that happened...
- Jake got a job!!!!!!!!! He is now a Financial Annalist for Allstate and he loves it.
- We got a new car... Well new to us :)
- I am helping choreograph for a Tri-Stake Dance Festival
- I am choreographing and performing in a dance number for a Stake Relief Society event.
- I am going to start teaching piano
- We have changed our eating/exercise habits for the better
- Emma is talking more and more and I can pretty much have a little conversation with her. (Granted I probably speak Emma more then most ;)
Its long overdue, but I am finally getting around to writing about Miss Emma's birthday. It was a day full of family, food, laughter, and of course cake. I have to admit I couldn't wait to see Emma eat her cake and get frosting everywhere. It was the craziest, busiest, but best birthday that we could ask for. So many family members came out to celebrate Emma's big day. We started the day off by exploring the Farmers Market and getting the last few items needed for the party. We then came home and got the food out and everything ready to go. Then it was the dreaded waiting game. I hate waiting. So what to do while waiting. Why crochet, be silly, and in Emma's case give you the puppy dog eyes. Seriously how do you say No to that little face. But soon enough family started showing up, and kept showing up until our home was completely packed with people. If I counted right there was about 17 people in our tiny living room. Its a good thing we all love each other. Its not very often that both sides of our family has a chance to meet together. It was perfect having so many people who love Emma there with us. The rest of the party was full of eating, opening presents, laughing, and of course eating cake. It was so fun watching Emma with her other cousins. I love that messy face. I think the cake was a success! And can I say that I am super proud of that cake. First time making a fondant cake whoo hoo. The whole party was super fun. After the party broke up, we ended the day by going to the park with my parents and grandparents. It was the perfect celebration for the cutest little girl. I am so glad that so many family members traveled so far to celebrate with us. Now to start planning her next birthday... (just kidding ;) )
