Cookie Dough Pizza Pie

So good, it will change your life!

It all started when Jake and I were craving pizza the other night. I started to think about our favorite pizza cafe, Pizza Pie Cafe. I could just imagine their buffalo wild wing pizza or their baked potato pizza, and my two favorites Oreo and cookie Dough pizza. Those two dessert pizzas just might change your life, they’re that good. Sadly the Pizza Pie Cafe is far away in Idaho with all of there amazing food. So I started to think (which can be dangerous) I decided to make my own version of the Cookie Dough pizza pie.

Pizza Dough (recipe from “Joy of Cooking)

  • 1 1/3 cups of warm water
  • 1 package or 2 1/4 tsp of active dry yeast
  • 3 1/2 cups of flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Dissolve yeast in the warm water inside a bowl. Add all the other ingredients. Mix until dough is soft and elastic. (I let my Kitchen Aid do all the work) Put a little olive oil on the bottom of the bowl and on top of the dough. Let rise for about 45 min.

Cookie dough

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1- 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • handful of chocolate chips

Cream the shortening and sugar together. Add everything else and mix well. You will want the dough to be a little bit firmer then normal cookie dough. Side note: this cookie dough is not that good to snack on but it tastes amazing once it is cooked.

Cook the Pizza

Now that the dough and the cookie dough is ready, roll your pizza dough into two pies. Lightly  brush a little olive oil on top of the dough. Next crumble the cookie dough on top of the pizza pie. Bake at 400° for about 15 min. Take out and put on the toppings that are listed below.

The Glaze

  • 1/2 cup butter soften
  • 2 oz cream cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Powder Sugar (a cup and a halfish)

Cream the butter and cream cheese together. Add in everything else expect the powder sugar. Mix well. Slowly add powder sugar until the desired consistency. (be careful if you taste it. You might just want to eat all the glaze before the pizza is done.)

Hot Fudge– Since I didn’t have this on hand, I decided to make some from scratch

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Mix everything in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil constantly stirring. Boil the mixture until it starts to thicken.

Optional- You can add caramel sauce to this and it will be amazing. We just didn’t have any caramel sauce on hand.

Seriously this recipe will change your life. This is a must when we make pizza now. Its a good thing that Emma and I go walking outside a lot or I would get fat off of this pizza ;) Pretty much you need to go make it now… ready go!
