Emma is sick. It is so sad to see her so quiet and still. She seems to be filling a little better today, but we are still filling our day with lots of cuddles, stories, and her favorite shows. Is it bad that I am secretly enjoying all this cuddle time. I am soaking it up while it lasts.

On another note, I was looking through my photos and realized there are a ton of recipes that I never shared with you. It would be wrong for me not share all the goodness, the food was that good! So to start off this food fest, I give you my new favorite cinnamon rolls.

Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls


I found this recipe while I was looking through Pinterest. It was super easy to make and so delicious. They were gone within a day of making them, they are that good! You can find the original recipe here

Here is what you need:


  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast
  • 1 egg


  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 6 tbsp butter soften
  • 1 apple cored and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (I bought whatever was cheapest at the store)


  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce


First microwave the milk and butter for the dough. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Continue microwaving every 20 seconds until the butter is all melted.  Make sure to stir often.

In your stand mixer, make sure it is fitted with dough hook. Add 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt. Mix well. Add the milk/egg mixture and mix on a medium-low speed until it is all combined. While the mixer is still on, slowly add the rest of the dough. Add dough until the dough starts to pull away from the sides. Beat for about 5 more minutes. Remove bowl and cover dough with a damp cloth for 10 minutes.

While the dough is resting, mix together the sugars and cinnamon for the filling and set aside.applecinnamon

Once the dough is good to go, roll it out into a large rectangle. Spread the soften butter on the dough. Next sprinkle with the sugar mixture followed by the chopped apple. Last of all drizzle with the 1/2 cup of caramel sauce.

Starting at the wider side, tightly roll up the dough. Then cut into about 11 or 12 pieces. Place the cinnamon rolls on a greased backing pan. Cover with the damp towel and let rest for 25 minutes. Once the rolls have raised, bake at 350 degrees F for 15-20.

After they are done cooking. Place on a wire rack to cool for a couple of minutes then add the rest of the caramel.

Now you are done and ready to the goodness! You are welcome in Advance. You will not be able to keep these caramel apple cinnamon rolls in your house. Something that we like to do if by some miracle they make it to the next day, we love to microwave them for just a few seconds. Then it tastes like they just came out of the oven.  Hmm I kind of want to go make them again right now. Hope you enjoy!
